Quentin Garel is a Paris based artist known for his unique bronze sculptures depicting various animals and fossils. Intricate details and textures intrigue viewers, who are often surprised to learn that they are, in fact, bronze. Garel begins each piece first with a drawing followed by a carving in wood. From there he makes the mold to cast the sculpture in bronze. Others, originally sculpted in styrofoam, appear to be real bone. He has received prestigious awards for drawing and sculpting from institutions including Academie des Beaux-Arts, Paris, and the Salon de Mai, Paris.
